In prayer tonight, the Holy Spirit presence was very tangible, and He brought my mind to the countless times when He spoke in many different ways. Often, we received seemingly disconnected words from Scripture that were so very stirring, moments when He gives us reassurance; oftentimes we can have a vision, or He speaks to us in dreams.
Each and every time you feel encouraged, you feel embraced, you feel like ‘all is going to be ok’. All is well.
And you are right.
But then comes a time when you feel you are not able to make sense of anything anymore, and you get discouraged, even to the point of nearly giving up.
It can happen to anybody
Even when we might not be easily discouraged, and we try to cling to God’s promises, there are times when we might question the hours spent in prayer, the cycle of hopes up then hopes deferred. All those years waiting can bring us into a place where we could feel literally displaced, as if we were not in God’s plan anymore: Or at least we feel like that.
Or you go on and have another dream, give it another try, another Bible verse jumps at you, but you are near the point of no point. There is a bit of shore with a lighthouse near our place in Washington State, that is called “Point No Point”. That name can be our reality when we are tempted to give up on our God given dreams.
Alignment
As we walk with God, there comes a time when all aligns. Very often the moment of more darkness, utter disillusion, not seeing fulfillment, tired of waiting, can be the time when all that God spoke into your life over many years: all those promises, all those moments of intimacy with Him, when he whispered encouragement, gave you strength, and revealed not only His plans, but also revealed his heart for you, what He was dreaming for you: Suddenly all aligned, and as you go on, you enter into a road of fulfillment.
Reminds me of a story I read of a place -a narrow canal into port- that can only be safely navigated when the lights of three lighthouses are aligned becoming one.
Gather the moments
This is what the Lord said tonight:
Set yourself in prayer and let the Holy Spirit bring into alignment all those words, dreams, promises, your call and the promises attached to your call -there are always promises linked to our call- and all that God revealed to your heart, into your present time and into the future.
Allow the Holy Spirit to gather all those moments when He spoke to you, when He showed you the heart of the Father, when He showed you your life in Jesus; all the words spoken to you over many years, and align them into a Kairos moment that will shift all your timeline into a place of fulfillment.
Don’t be discouraged. Come to that place of intimacy with the Holy Spirit of God, the quiet place in His presence where everything begins to make sense again in the middle of the turmoil this world is in.
