How Many Steps?

Chapter I

Because there is no backward option
in the Kingdom of God,
only forward.

EZEKIEL, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

Philippians 3:14 “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)

How Many Steps?

John came to the Sunday evening gathering in a wheelchair. He has been paralyzed for several years as a result of an accident. Just because of him the church had installed a wheelchair roller up the stairs to the upper room sanctuary.

Boy to Smith Wigglesworth: “I want that
‘so much more’ you were preaching about.”

When we made an altar call for those who simply wanted more of God, he came up. We were not praying for healing, or any other specific requests or needs at that moment: it was a prayer time to call on God to manifest more of His presence in our lives.

Like that boy who came to the altar at Smith Wigglesworth meeting just asking what the preacher was sharing: More of God. He came and the body prayed. And he believed.

He asked the family to bring him to the next meeting without the wheelchair. Now, this was a big man not easy to handle if he has to be transported without a wheelchair or at least crutches, although truth be said, crutches would have not helped much as he had no strength or movement whatsoever in his legs. His relatives were bracing themselves for quite a ride then, especially considering that the church was in the upper room with a long flight of stairs ahead of them.

When you have a real encounter with the Holy Spirit you are given an urge to step forward.

He run up that flight of stairs. They brought -let’s say they dragged him- to the first step at the bottom of that staircase. He felt a little tingling in his legs, was able to lift his right foot just enough to reach that first step, and suddenly, he run up the stairs.

That is forward, and upwards.

But it happened first in the spiritual realm.

He believed.

When you have a real encounter with the Holy Spirit                                     you are given an urge to step forward.

That is faith catapulting you into Kairos. That moment when eternity touches your timeline.

Now, you might be thinking, how can Conrad be so blunt in saying there is no backward option in the Kingdom of God?

I did not say that!

It was Jesus. He said in Luke 9:62,

But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
