I remember how that story gave me goosebumps when the lady shared it in our church. I was a teenager and mesmerized by the things the Holy Spirit was doing!
This young lady had been dating a young man from her town, and things were going pretty well, and becoming more serious. She was madly in love with him.
But then, one day at a crusade, the guy accepted Jesus and was saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit. Such a change in life brought him to a new level of commitment to God. He shared his experience with the lady he loved but she was not having it. She would not consider listening to this “nonsense” he had gotten into.
As the relationship worsened, they became quite apart, and finally he broke up with her. She tried everything she could to force him to change his mind. But he had found Jesus, and such a peace with God, that felt like he had a new lease in life. He was not ready to let it go; Jesus was now so much more important.
After they broke the relationship, and having tried whatever she could think of to win him back, she went to a renowned witch and paid her to cast spells that would bring the man back to her and forget that “religious stuff” he had gotten into.
That did not succeed.
Over time, she herself found salvation in Jesus and discovered a new life and peace she never had before. One day she decided to share her story as part of her testimony of giving her life to the Lord Jesus.
That is the story that gave me and still give me the chills, thinking how real the invisible world is, and the powers that operate in it.
When she went to that witch and hired her to cast the spells to bring the man back to her, the witch -as I mentioned- did not succeed. When she confronted the witch -who was famous for her success rate- she said: “Listen, I tried every spell, I had in my arsenal, and they all failed, I convened powerful spirits to help me bind him and bring him back to you. It all failed”. The young lady was angry and surprised and finally asked “But why? How could you fail with all the power that you have?”
She said: “I could not get past the blood”
Did you hear that? She could not get past the blood. The man, she said, was covered with a protection of blood that did not allow any power to get past that barrier!
My friend, if you have believed in Jesus, and He is your Saviour, you have not only been washed by His blood: you are covered with the Blood of the Lamb! No power can go past the Blood of Jesus.
